My Adventure with Natural Philosophy
My philosophy has taken a dramatic change. I had been studying the works of Cornelius Agrippa, Paracelsus, and Albertus Magnus. Although their views were very old and never actually proven, I believed them with my whole heart. You can imagine the shock when I found out that the things they preached and wrote about were all lies. I guess the idea of raising ghosts or devils was a little silly, but the idea of doing so still fascinates me!
Anyhow, I found out that the beliefs that these philosophers preached were false when something occurred that completely discredited them. Lightning struck a tree, leaving nothing behind. My father explained to me that this natural phenomena was something called "electricity" and showed me a few experiments exhibiting the power of it. This completely disproved everything that the philosophers had written about and left me heartbroken.
Later, when I went off to college, I had a few professors that taught me about natural philosophy. It is funny that these teachers were entirely different from one another despite having the same interests and profession. I was particularly fond of M. Waldman as he was very kind and understanding towards me. He brought my attention to chemistry, explained how to use different tools in the laboratory, and recommended books for me to read to truly understand natural philosophy. M. Krempe, on the other hand, was very rude towards me and mocked me for believing the preachings of ancient philosophers that weren't true at all.
M. Waldman left such an impression on me that I completely enveloped myself and dedicated all of my time to learning all I can about natural philosophy. I attended all of the lectures these professors held even though I did not like M. Krempe at all. I continued to study natural philosophy for two more years and really grew close with M. Waldman. I had become an exceptional student and reached my maximum potential of natural philosophy and chemistry.
I was going to return home, but I decided not to. I had become fascinated with another subject: anatomy. I needed to study this more and find out all I can about it. I started studying the death aspect first. I studied how the body decayed and rotted away. After doing so, I studied how life began and how it was bestowed. I had a shocking revelation that I could possibly bestow life. The years of education in natural philosophy and my personal study of anatomy, life, and death has led me to believe that it is entirely possible to do. I'll update you guys soon on how this goes.
